Jesus Promises The Holy Spirit John 14:15-18 15 "If you love Me, keep My commandments. 16 And I will pray the Father, and He will give
you The Comforter, that He may abide with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because
it does not see Him or know Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. 18 I will not leave you comfortless;
I will come to you."
THERE IS ONE BAPTISM THAT SAVES: THE BAPTISM OF THE HOLY SPIRIT.
I believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, who has come to convince the world of
sin, of righteousness, of judgment, and by whose baptism we are "born again". I believe by whose indwelling the Holy Spirit
enables a Christian to live a Godly life.
"He shall glorify me;..." John 16:14
THE SPIRIT AND LOVE OF JESUS
The Holy Spirit will help you understand the bible and the words of GOD to you. But you need to take it most seriously and
apply yourself. It is the greatest gift you will ever get besides Jesus Christ. GLORY TO GOD. HE loves us so much and will
make sure our life is in HIS hands.
THE SPIRIT HAS THE ACTIONS OF A PERSON
He clearly communicates with Believers. If there is communication, then many other things are indicated: will, ability, intelligence,
2 Samuel 23:2: ...The Spirit of the Lord spoke by me....
Acts 8:29: ...Then the Spirit said....
Revelation 2:7: ...the Spirit says....
Paul tells us that when we don't know how to pray that the Spirit Himself makes intercession on our behalf (Romans 8:26).
This indicates that the Holy Spirit knows our minds, and has the ability to communicate with GOD THE FATHER for us. Neither
of these are abilities a power or force might have.
One of the ministries that He has with the Christian is guidance, be it guidance in our study of the Word, or guidance in
finding Elohim's will. Romans 8:14: ...For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
He calls and commissions******:
He commanded Phillip to go to the Eunuch at Acts 8:29. This requires planning and authority. Phillip was submitting to the
plan of the Spirit for his life.
He Dwells In Believers******:
Only a being with personality can dwell with another being. John 14:17 mentions, in relationship to the Spirit, ...and shall
be in you.
A teacher is not devoid of personality. The Holy Spirit has the ability to teach which indicates many of the things that we
have mentioned. Will, intelligence and the ability to communicate are all qualities of personality. John 14:26

He Sends: Acts 13:4
He Forbids Some Actions: Acts 16:6,7
He Empowers: Acts 1:8, 2 Peter 1:21
He Testifies: John 15:26,27
The Holy Spirit can be vexed******:
Isaiah 63:10: "But they rebelled, and vexed his Holy Spirit therefore he was turned to be their enemy, and he fought against
them." Vexed means to annoy or disturb. In relation to this, we need to understand that we have a responsibility to the Holy
Spirit to treat Him as a person. How it must vex Him when His people deny his intelligence, His wisdom, His concerns for us
He can be grieved*******:
You cannot grieve a force or power, but it is possible to grieve a person. Grieving the Spirit should be the last thing that
we Believers would want to do, yet we do so often.
Ephesians 4:30 warns that the Holy Spirit can be lied to: Ananias and Sapphira lied to Him with dire results. To know and
punish a liar requires intelligence and a sense of value judgments. Conversely, who would attempt to lie to a power or force?
The idea itself doesn't even make sense. Acts 5:3:
The Spirit can be resisted*******:
In Stephen's sermon he encouraged his listeners to be open to the Spirit. "You stiff-necked and uncircumcised in heart and
ears, you do always resist the Holy Spirit; as your parents did, so do you" -- Acts 7:51. Notice that the result of resisting
the Spirit is being "stiff-necked."
The Holy Spirit can be called upon*******:
Ezekiel 37:9 is the beginning of the vision of the dry bones arising and being assembled. The Spirit is called to breath life
into the dead. If called upon, there is an expected possibility of a response.
The response is that action of personality that we ought to look forward to when we pray. If the Holy Spirit is not a Person
He can't reply to our prayers. If He can't reply to our prayers, then why should we pray? On the other hand, when we are praying
and worshiping God and sense the presence of the Holy Spirit we should understand that this is not a flow of energy but the
actual presence of the Almighty God in our midst! The Holy Spirit has heard and accepted our prayers and praise!
The Spirit is to be obeyed*******:
It is inconceivable to think that we would obey anything less than a person. Acts 10:19-21 tells us that the Holy Spirit ordered
Peter to go meet some people and he followed His instructions. At Acts 16:6 Paul is again guided and commanded by the Holy

THE WESTMINSTER SHORTER CATECHISM********:
Question 4: What is God? Answer 4: God is a Spirit, infinite, eternal, and unchangeable, in His being, wisdom, power, holiness,
justice, goodness, and truth. Question 5: Are there more Gods than one? Answer 5: There is but one only, the living and true
God. Question 6: How many persons are there in the Godhead? Answer 6: There are three persons in the Godhead; the Father,
the Son, and the Holy Ghost; and these three are one God, the same in substance, equal in power and glory.
This requires many of the attributes which we have already discussed. Only a being with personality can call and commission
people to diverse ministries around the world. Acts 13:2, Acts 20:28.
THE FRUITS OF THE SPIRIT:
How do we know who is in Christ? Salvation manifests. We will know them BY THEIR FRUITS (Mt.7:20)!
Among these are love, faith, righteousness, humility, compassion, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
gentleness, selflessness, self-control, temperance, respect, hospitality, thankfulness, charity, forgiveness and purity of
heart. The apostle Paul said: "Overall these virtues, put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity".
The indwelling of the Holy Spirit turns us into a new creation. "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the
old has gone, the new has come!" (2 Corinthians 5:17) Being a new creation, we demonstrate the virtues of Jesus Christ. "The
fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against
such things, there is no law". (Galatians 5:22-23)
Christ secured our salvation until He comes for us. He who began a good work in us will carry it on to completion until the
day of Christ. (Philippians 1:6)
Paul exhorts Christians to live as a new creation and abandon the ways of the sinful world. Everyone who confesses the name
of the Lord must turn away from wickedness. (2 Timothy 2:13) Do not offer parts of your body to sin, as instruments of wickedness,
but rather offer yourselves to God, as those who have been brought from death to life, and offer the parts of your body to
Him as instruments of righteousness. (Romans 6:13)
We live in terrible times. People are lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their
parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good,
treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God having a form of godliness but denying its power.
Have nothing to do with them. (2 Timothy 3:1-5)
Flee the evil desires of youth, and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out
of a pure heart. (2 Timothy 2:22) If you know that He is righteous, you know that everyone who does what is right has been
born of Him. (I John 2:29)
Therefore, I urge US in view of God's mercy, to offer our bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God - this is
our spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of
our mind. (Romans 12:1-2 in part)
The Bible has emphasized the importance of loving God and our fellow men. But if anyone obeys God's word, God's love is truly
made complete in Him. This is how we know we are in Him. (I John 2:3-5) We know that we have passed from death to life, because
we love our brothers. Anyone who does not love remains in death. (I John 3:14)
Jesus said: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.
If someone strikes you on one cheek, turn to him the other also. If someone takes your cloak, do not stop him from taking
your tunic. (Luke 6:27-29) His command: Love each other as I have loved you. (John 15:12) Love your enemies and pray for those
who persecute you that you may be sons of your Father in Heaven. (Matthew 5:44)
How can we show our love? John said: "Let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth" (I John 3:18). Since
love comes from God, we have the power to love one another and defeat the sins of the world. "... And His commands are not
burdensome, for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.
Who is it that overcomes the world? Only He who believes that Jesus is the Son of God" (I John 5:3-5).
This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down His life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers.
If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity in him, how can the love of God be in him?
(I John 3:16-18). About love, Jesus said, "Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. You
are my friends if you do what I command" (John 15:13-14).
God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in Him (I John 4:16). Dear friends, let us love one another, for
love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because
God is love (I John 4:7-8).
Paul said that he was nothing without love (I Corinthians 13:2). Paul described love this way.
"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking,
it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always
protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails" (I Corinthians 13:4-8).
"Therefore as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness
and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave
you. And overall these virtues, put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. Let the peace of Christ rule
in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful" (Colossians 3:12-15).
"And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through
Him" (Colossians 3:17). " Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men" (Colossians
"All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble"
(I Peter 5:5). "Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the
unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace" (Ephesians 4:2). "...God has called us to live in peace" (I Corinthians 7:15).
May we all be blessed by His word.
THE TRUE: GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT
Beloved; Perhaps most blasphemed, misrepresented, falsely used, abused, is God The Holy Spirit. Whole movements of

IN CHRIST JESUS BY THE HOLY SPIRIT WE LIVE
It's crunch time for His faithful. Be full in the Holy
Spirit or be overcome by the world's issues, the problems of the flesh, the assaults of Satan and the disciplines and
troubles God uses for our continuing sanctification (being made Holy unto God). Perilous times ARE HERE. We are over comers
in Christ in us by the Holy Spirit, IF we are full, armor on, ready for His call.
Beloved, please read this
A BRIEF REVIEW: GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT
ABOUT THE HOLY SPIRIT IN US
Jesus told the disciples that He would send them the Spirit. John 14:15-18, Also to the lost world to "convict the
world of guilt in regard to sin and righteousness and judgment" John 16:7-11 . No man born under the sun does not have
a degree of God consciousness. The Spirit applies the truths of God, particularly through THE GOSPEL to the minds of lost
to convince them that they are sinners. The love of self and sins as a lifestyle and the power of Satan in his concocted world
systems inhibits conviction. But God makes certain He has a elect! Responding to that conviction brings lost men and women
"And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were
given unto him of my Father." John 6:65
The Spirit convinces us of Christ's deity and incarnation,
His being the Messiah, His suffering and death, His resurrection and ascension, His exaltation at the right hand of God, and
His role as the judge of all. He gives glory to Christ in all things. " He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of
mine, and shall show it unto you."John 16:14 (THE GOSPEL! BELOVED'S GET OUT "HIS GOSPEL"!)
Once we are saved through Baptism of the Holy Spirit and belong to God, the Spirit has taken up residence in our hearts
forever, sealing us with the confirming, certifying, and assuring pledge of our eternal state as the children precious possession
and children of Almighty GOD.
"Who has also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts."
2 Cor.1:22 " All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away."
Jesus said He would send the Spirit to us to be our Helper, Comforter, and Guide.
"And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever."John 14:16. The Greek
word translated here "Counselor" means "one who is called alongside" and has the idea of someone who encourages
The Holy Spirit takes up permanent residence in the hearts of believers to function as God
in us in the absence of Christ above. Rom.8:9; 1 Cor.6:19-20; 12:13.
Jesus gave the Spirit as a "compensation"
for His absence, to perform the functions toward us which He would have done if He had remained personally with us. "I
go to prepare a place for you..." John 14.
"And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit
of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father." Gal.4:6
The Holy Spirit produces the purity of God
in our lives. God's purpose is to purify us. Titus 2:14
The Spirit is the agent of our sanctification.
"...but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of
our God. 1 Cor.6:11 " Peter said to him, You shall never wash my feet. Jesus answered him, If I wash you not, you
have no part with me". John 13:8
These washings proceed throughout our walk in Christ!!! WE SIN! Sin
breaks fellowship with a Holy God.
" If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness,
we lie, and do not the truth: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and
the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleans us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth
is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us." 1 John 1:6-10
My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father,
Jesus Christ the righteous: And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole
world." 1 John 2:1-2
As the silversmith uses fire to purge the dross from the precious metal, so God
uses the Spirit to remove our sin from us. His fire cleanses and refines. Ps. 66:10, Proverbs 17:3
Spirit is a fire dwelling in each believer. He wants to express Himself in our actions and attitudes. When believers do not
allow the Spirit to be seen in our actions, when we do what we know is wrong, we suppress or quench the Spirit . " Quench
not the Spirit.". 1 Thessalonians 5: 19
" And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby you are
sealed to the day of redemption." Eph.4:30 (salvation secure in Christ, service and rewards above dependent on
obedience and faithful works)
We grieve the Spirit by living like the pagans (4:17-19), by lying (4:25),
by being angry (4:26-27), by stealing (4:28), by cursing (4:29), by being bitter (4:31), by being unforgiving (4:32), and
by being sexually immoral (5:3-5). To grieve the Spirit is to act out in a sinful manner, whether it is in thought only or
in both thought and deed as well as sins of OMISSION.
Both quenching and grieving the Spirit are similar
in their effects. Both hinder a godly lifestyle. Both happen when a believer sins against God and follows his or her own worldly
desires. ALL OUR SINS ARE AGAINST OUR HOLY GOD!
"Against you, you only, have I sinned, and done this
evil in your sight: that you might be justified when you speak, and be blameless when you judge." Ps.51:4
He reveals the truth. The Spirit's presence within us enables us to understand and interpret God's Word. Jesus told
His disciples that "when He, the Spirit of Truth, comes, He will guide you into all truth". John 16:13
He reveals to our minds the whole counsel of God as it relates to worship, doctrine, and Christian living. He does this
directly and by brethren in the faith appointed to such service IN HIS PURE WORD OF TRUTH. He is the ultimate guide, going
before, leading the way, removing obstructions, opening the understanding, and making all things plain and clear. He leads
in the way we should go in all spiritual things. Without such a guide, we would be apt to fall into error.
A crucial part of the truth He reveals is that Jesus is who He said He is. "But when the Comforter is come, whom I
will send to you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceeds from the Father, he shall testify of me: John 15:26.
"But you shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come on you: and you shall be witnesses to me
both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and to the uttermost part of the earth." Acts 1:8
Another one of the Holy Spirit's roles is that of gift-giver.
1 Corinthians 12: 1,4-11 describes the
spiritual gifts given to believers in order that we may function as the body of Christ on earth. All these gifts, both great
and small, are given by the Spirit so that we may be His ambassadors to the world, showing forth His grace and glorifying
" Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant.....Now there are diversities
of gifts, but the same Spirit. And there are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of workings,
but it is the same God who works all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit with. SEE:
*** :Now, brethren, if I come unto you speaking with tongues, what shall I profit you, except I
shall speak to you either by revelation, or by knowledge, or by prophesying, or by doctrine?" 1 Cor.14:6
The Spirit also functions as fruit-producer in our lives. Galatians 5: 22-23 (ARE WE LIVING IN HIS "LOVE"?
1 John 3:11,18, 23: 4:7,11,12,16,17,18-21 !!!)
" But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long
suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, self-control: against such there is no law."
But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law." Gal.5:18
" Knowing this, that the law
is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane,
for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for man slayers,... 1 Timothy 1:9
OF THE BELIEVER
" Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as
ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee." Hebrews 13:5; ***Joshua 1:5
promise is made to those who are patiently bearing affliction or persecution for Christ's sake; and may be applied to
any faithful soul in affliction, temptation, or adversity of any kind. Trust in the Lord with thy whole heart, and never lean
to thy own understanding; for he hath said, "No, I will never leave thee; not I: I will never, never cast thee off."
THE FAITH THAT SAVES DOES NOT FALTER IN AFFLICTIONS, NOR CHASTISEMENTS FROM GOD. IT IS GOD GIVEN FAITH.
